Opportunities for Learning
Sunday morning:
Adults:
- A thematic "round table" discussion
group meets at 9:20 a.m.
- A lectionary (weekly scripture
lessons) Bible
study discussion group meets after worship at 11:45 a.m.
Teens: A small discussion
group
meets at 9:20 a.m.
Children: A class for older children
meets at 9:20 a.m.
Toddler and infant care is provided at the 9:20 hour
and
worship hour (10:30)
Wednesday:
Bible study: Those
attending bring their own lunches at 11:30, and discussion begins at
noon and goes till 1 p.m. (Adults)
Special Events:
Held during the year, usually
on a
Sunday evening, with outside speakers on topics of interest.
Opportunities for Fellowship
Women's Fellowship meets
the
first Saturday of the month at 10 a.m. Topics vary, from "field
trips" to places of interest in town to book reviews or general
discussions.
Men's Breakfast & Conversation
meets
the second Saturday of the month at 9 a.m. Men take turns cooking
breakfast, and a convener broaches a topic of interest.
Special Friends links children
ages 6 to
12 with an adult who remembers their birthdays and special days. Once a
year the Special Friends have a "Kool-Aid Hour" and get together
after worship.
Potluck Suppers (and a program)
are a
staple in this church with no cooking facilities.
Fellowship Hour after worship
provides
time to catch up with friends over coffee, juice, and cookies.
Seasonal and Special Events, such
as
- Summerfest
- Cool Jazz
- First Sunday Lecture Series
- Chili Cook-off
- Star Party
and the Annual OSU Theater Night,
holiday
parties, etc.
Opportunities for Service
Care Teams
Providing meals,
transportation, and
friendly visits to people in crisis.
Election Day Bake Sale
Major elections provide an
opportunity to represent the church to the community; proceeds go to a
designated mission project.
